Final Position: MC
My standard of golf was not good enough to get a weekend tee time in Munich this weekend. That was a shame because I would have loved to play two more rounds at this superbly organised event. It was certainly one of the best tournaments of the whole year in terms of organisation, atmosphere, etc.
The last three weeks have been pretty tough, I didn't play well enough and was never able to build up any momentum. Too often a birdie was followed by a bogey, the putts didn't want to drop at important moments and there were simply one or two mistakes too many. My game was very much in the spirit of the European Championship and a well-known football quote: ‘First we had no luck, and then bad luck came along’
I now have a week of training at home ahead of me, so I have some time ahead of me on the driving range.
Unfortunately, I can't get into the tournaments in the USA in my category, so I've decided to play two events on the Challenge Tour. The first one starts on 18 July.
